Re: Benefits Britain

Unless you're seen her entitlement letter or the information she's provided to the benefit office, there's simply no way you could know.

Either the info you have provided is incorrect or she is committing benefit fraud. Either way, I'd be interested to see the breakdown.

You are right in saying it's the benefit office's responsibility to know what income a claimat declares however the same goes for HMRC when administering tax. Benefit claimants can be economical with the truth when making a claim in the same way that people putting in their tax returns can be.

I'm not for one second excusing either practice but it's hardly an easy thing to police. Unless of course you massively increase the number of staff who investigate this sort of thing.

Re: Benefits Britain
As has been said (many times) before it's the system that's fucked, not the people exploiting it, but you can't make good TV from pointing and shouting at a system, 'cos a system don't give a fuck and won't generate a reaction.

The "system", laid down in statute, that tolerates benefits "scroungers" is EXACTLY the same system that tolerates "corporate tax dodgers".

The laws are made by the same club, and if THEY were not happy with it, THEY, having the power to do so, would change the law(s). No change, only tinkering, which indicates those YOU vote for to legislate on such things are 100% happy with the way things are.

Re: Benefits Britain
we've had this before brucies. If people working in these places dont know what people are getting then something is seriously wrong. She's not commiting benefit fraud, she's entitled to those amounts. She's actually recently had the amounts cut, well had to contribute more to her council tax.

If those figures are correct, this person you know is almost certainly committing benefit fraud.

Do the right thing and report them.

Bailiffs dont rob/steal goods. They take them to cover the debt owed by the individual/company.

Re: Benefits Britain
Brucies, i know someone who works 15.5 hrs per week and gets:

£500 odd from their job
Rent paid
£600 odd benefits
£400 maintenance

So £1500 per mth left over for bills etc.1 kid.

I'd say thats pretty living alright for someone working 15.5 hrs per week.

I would go to houses for various reasons, not just collection of loans payments. The thing is though, you say debt. But most of them are on iva's so pay around 40p/50p in the pound fir that debt anyway.

They all have the latest kit etc as well.

I find SOME people who work in the benefits office tend to be in denial as well. These people take the piss.

'These people' (the ones you have experience dealing with) are by definition, in a lot of debt.

Do you concede it's possible that the reason they appear to 'live like kings' is because they borrow money well beyond their means? I mean why else would you be knocking on their door?

There are people that cheat the system, but there are also a helluva lot of people on the breadline. To suggest they are all living like kings is incredibly misguided or dishonest.

I thought most benefits were paid to parents for their bastard kids. Are those fucking OAP cunts scrounging 'n all? If I were you I'd be robbing their possessions too.

Re: Benefits Britain
Bailiffs dont rob things. Goods are taken to the value of the debt owed by the individual or business.

But i see where you are going with this. Whats next, "blame the bankers". "Most benefits are paid to pensioners" etc.

Like i said, ive seen first hand the "poverty" these people live in. They live like kings with higher desposable income than working people.

YEAH!
Did you rob the possessions of any minted tax dodgers btw?

Was a good job. Paid the mortgage, bills etc. Much better pay than a traffic warden.

Although much like a traffic warden, if people paid what they owed or didnt break the law, then there wasnt an issue.

Of course it is. So is your party going to tax disability benefit to those in genuine need? It's election time so you might as well lie.

welfare is a safety net, it's there to help people in need.

Not like this piece of work.

Bailiff industry. Great job. You must be proud. Does promotion guarantee you a job as a traffic warden?

As in going after the cheats of depriving those in genuine need? No need to answer. It was rhetorical.

* Its all made up daily mail shit

* Blame the bankers

* The figures cannot be right as i work in the benefit office

* Go after the big companies not paying tax

Have I covered all the excuses here. Ive been telling people how it is for about 10 yrs now after working in the bailiff industry, seeing the "poverty" these people live in. I kind of give up worrying about it now.

Never ever knock the people claiming the benefits. They only ever get what the law entitles them to. The Secret is change the law!

Sister-in-law been on benefits for 20 odd years and has been taking the piss, however it is all legitimate and above board. That's the sad thing if you know what you are doing and have got the front to do it then it can be a "decent" lifestyle.

Thing is sister-In-law knows all the angles and has got answer for everything! I could tell you stories on here that you probably wouldn`t believe but it would take me too long. Its very sad my missus and I have always worked and enjoyed the nice things in life without being extravagant but the her sis has done f**k all in life and will do f**k all in life but has never worked and never will.

Pathetic story really f**king hate being in the same room as her sometimes, by the way she has a flat screen tv, kids have iPhone 6 (mine don`t and are not that bothered!) got my head held high and that's worth something to me.

By the way saw a young disabled kid (a teenager) working in a McDonalds a few months ago and he had a limp and a withered arm but was working and I had so much admiration for him as he had self respect and was trying to make something of himself when he could quite happily sit on benefits for the rest of his life. Top respect.
